Rick Ziebarth

Chairman

Rick owns a home near the airport on Put-in-Bay and is the owner/pilot for the "Baystormer" bi-plane tour rides. Rick is a full-time pilot. He joined the board in 2015.

Robert Stausmire

Vice Chairman

Bob joined the board January 2017. He replaced Karl Schmidlin, who retired December 2016. Bob owns a home on Middle Bass Island that belonged to his family since the 1950s. He has been a ferry boat captain since 1978 and is currently working for Miller Boat Line in the summer. Bob has also done carpentry and project management work for a number of years.

Chris Ladd

Board Member

Chris joined the board July 2017. Chris was born and raised on Put-in-Bay. He owns a home here with his wife and has two children. Chris works for the village of Put-in-Bay. Chris also has a lot of experience on Lake Erie.

Mark Friebel

Board Member

Mark joined the Port Authority Board in 2019. He is a private pilot and flies to his summer home on the island frequently. Mark worked at Arcelor Mittal in Shelby, Ohio for 42 years and now is retired. Mark has been a private pilot for 42 years.

The Put-in-Bay Township Port Authority board is appointed by the Put-in-Bay Township Trustees.

Our annual audit is available at the Auditor of the State of Ohio website. Enter "Put-in-Bay Township Port Authority" and "Ottawa" county as your search parameters. It will display a list of annual audits for you to select. Audits are typically completed by May or June and available online by August for the prior fiscal year.

DBE

Put In Bay Township Port Authority hereby announces its proposed Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal of 7.6% for FAA-funded contracts/agreements. The proposed goal pertains to federal fiscal years 2023 through 2025. A teleconference will be held on May 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. for the purpose of consulting with stakeholders to obtain information relevant to the goal-setting process. PUBLIC NOTICE

PIBTPA hereby announces its proposed Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal of 3.8% for FAA-funded contracts/agreements. PIBTPA estimates that in meeting the established overall goal of 3.8%, it will obtain 0.0% from RN participation and 3.8% through RC measures. The proposed goal pertains to federal fiscal years 2026 through 2028. A virtual consultation will be held on August 22, 2025, at 10:00 A.M., for the purpose of consulting with stakeholders to obtain information relevant to the goal-setting process.
